The course

PHGN 361 covers static electric and magnetic fields in free space and in dielectric and magnetic materials, steady currents, scalar and vector potentials, boundary-value problems via Gauss’s law and Laplace’s equation, and Ampere’s and Faraday’s laws. It is the prerequisite for the wave-and-optics course (PHGN 462).

My role

For PHGN 361 in 2024 I was the TA for the boundary-value stretch of the E&M sequence — office hours, review sessions, and original problem-set and exam material.
